Weekends at U of M

January 20, 2007

Sorry Omahawegians, but the U has sooo much more stuff to do then Omaha, and that’s not including all the things to do outside of the University.

~Comedy Shows

~Movies at the Student Union

~Frat Parties. . . . (I don’t go to these, but they’re there)

~Campus Crusades that actually is quite theocentric (although Crossroads prolly beats it . . .)

~More people to witness to

I guess the only thing that’s missing is you guys lol.  My friends up here are great, but I really miss my Omaha friends.  Today is gunna be a chill day, not really doing much of anything except for homework and devotions and maybe some chillin later.

Have a good and godly weekend ! ! ! :-)

University Life at U of M

January 17, 2007

As much as I love my life at college, I sure do miss home a lot.  I suppose I miss home primarily because it is comfotable.  I am not surrounded by so many people attacking the Word of God (or at least not so openly).  This disheartens me, but then I realize that God has placed me where I am for a specific reason.  I am called to live for Him, wherever I am at.  Being surrounded by college students has opened up a myriad of evangelical opportunities for me.  It is also a testing ground.  In college I have the ability to do whatever I want without anyone knowing.  But God knows.  I’m not talking about partying or sleeping around, but I’m talking about building others and myself up in the Lord.  It is so easy to get in a rut of selfishness and neglect devotions and the fellowship of believers.  However, as I do these things more and more I can see their value and Christ’s purpose for these things in my sanctification.  Delighting in God throughout the first few days of this semester has brought indescribable joy.

On a lighter note:

Classes – GOOD

Sleep – TONS

Friends- AWESOME

Minneapolis – COLD

GOD – BETTER THAN ALL :-)

That’s the summary of my first few days at school.
